Candace & Tony :: Enagaged

When will these guys be married? 3 weeks, that's when. July 3rd wedding. How cool is that.
Shot their session in The City and loved went to places I've never been prior. I think the pigeon shot ranks in my all time favorite top 10. This was actually a take 2. In the first take, all I have is Candace's hand covering her head and face from pigeon bombs. Can you blame her. See, I told you it was worth it Candace. ;) Congrats you 2. Wedding will be AWESOME cause Spencer will be shooting it with me.

Hope all is well and thank you everyone for the well wishes in regards to my B-day and poor Ethan's broken arm. Much love everyone. Take care.

2fer Thursday!

That's right, you get 2 sessions for the price of 1!

First up is a post wedding session I did with Tanya & Marius. Not strangers at all to my blog with this being the third time they're being showcased. They were married back in January of this year and had a truly epic wedding. Some of my most favorite group formals came out of their wedding set. Rather then hop back in their wedding attire for the post session we decided to take it easy and go a little casual. Congrats again guys. Our next session together? Maternity? ;)

Secondly, we have an engagement session with Rebecca & Jeff who will be married in just a few weeks. Shot their session in my old stompin grounds on Niles. Awesome town!! My fav from their session has to be the "survalience camera" shot. I lurves it. See you guys in a few weeks!! I get to go to Arroyo Grande to shot their wedding. YAY!

Again, I've got TONS in the cooker so if your waiting on a set from me prepare on seeing it in the coming days. Thank you all for the patience. Busy isn't even the word. Things are crazy and I love it! Cheers.

The Broken Arm

My son Ethan broke his arm last Thursday. I was on a shoot and the wife called from the ambulance. I had my gear and decided to document. It's was really tough watching my boy suffer. I wiped lots of tears while looking through the lens, almost to the point of setting the camera down. I document my kids often and pushed on through.

He ended up with a compound fracture. The bone was completely broken and was protruding through the flesh. As I said I was not there and when mom realized what had happened, almost passed out herself. The ambulance was called and he was rushed to the hospital. He was SUCH a trooper. From the time between breaking his arm and JUST going in for surgery he was without any pain medication. At times he smiled and laughed as well. When I got there he greeted me and this was our conversation:

"daddy, what happen to my arm?"

"you broke it bubba"

broken voice "can you fix it?"

We love you Ethan, please help mom and daddy and choose a new hero other then Superman. A rock, slug or tree would be an excellent choice. Thanks for the look everyone.

Mommy.

His toy, rubber lizard. He LOVES him.
The compound fracture.

just before surgery. He knew he was going in.
after surgery and FULL of meds. :)

This shot is very special to my wife and I. 4 years ago she was wheeled out of this same hospital door with a brand new Ethan to introduce to the world.

next day at home

the "good" arm
we love you bubbs. get well soon.....

Hillary, John & the boys

For the first time EVER! Sam shoots a family session & an engagement session IN ONE. Super yay!!
Hillary and John will be hitched in The City by the Bay in just a few weeks. This session was kinda over the top. Not sure how the boys did watching their mom and dad get smoochy, smoochy right in front of them. They even covered their eyes at times. Can't blame em. So did I every now and then. I haz proofs below.

Congrats you love birds. See you at the alter. ;)

I love how you can see mom and dad in the reflection. :)
