Nelli & Marius :: Chicago Engagement

**Que Frank Sinatra**

"Chicago, Chicago that toddling town
Chicago, Chicago I'll show you around - I love it"

Yeah Chicago!! WHAT. A. CITY. I loved it there and that's sayin a lot as I'm in the Bay Area have S.F. as a neighbor. Honestly though, Chicago is like 7 San Fransisco's. It's skyline is HUGE. What was I doing there? Shooting these guys. :)

Meet Nelli & Marius. I'll have the pleasure of shooting their wedding in just a few weeks here in Sacramento. Reason we were in Chicago was for Marius's brothers wedding. I shot Claudia & Ovi's wedding, (which is looking pretty epic, wow) the day before. We were there, I had my gear, why not shoot the engagement. You guys are awesome. These guys compliment each other well. And what's up with God giving all the good looks to the Romainans? Sheeesh, not fair.

Big ups to my man Fabian of FH Images for helping out as assistant. He uses a Nikon and he sucks for that but otherwise he's a cool dude. ;) Thanks again bro. You came through mang.
Happy Monday everyone. Cheers.

~Sam
Annnnnnd que Celine Dion.

This was in Chicago's famous underground Freeway. Crazy! I've never seen anything like it. Maruis told me that the latest Batman movie was shot here along with a list of many other car scenes from other hollywood movies.

Shot this on the "L", Chicagos elevated monorails system. We had to beg the gal in the fair booth to let us shoot. Thanks fair lady. :)

Annnnnnnnd we end with awesome.
Fabian holden it down. Thanks dude.

Lauren & Philip :: Wedding

Some of the sweetest folks I've met in my wedding travels were at this one. Shot Lauren and Philips wedding a couple month's back in Bakersfield. The Quan bomb came out with me. Quan is the coolest Vietnamese dude you'll ever meet. I loves the Quan. The church down in Bakersfield is just breathtaking. The architecture is just superb. Made for wonderful ceremony shots.

Had a classic car there for us to shoot in. My inside shot is an ode to my buddy Mr. Evan Baines. Hope I made you proud dude.

Special shout out to Lauren's mom Rebbecca, (mother of the bride. You have been awesome. Lauren you have a super mom. Philip, you have a super mom-in-law. No really, she was great, very supportive. You're a model for all MOB's. :)

Kris Seibold :: Musician

I had the privilege of shooting for Kris Seibold a few weeks back. Kris is a well know Christian music singer/songwriter, Kris is also on the tail end of putting out his first ever CD. While on our session he would zone out while strumming the guitar and I would zone in on capturing his spirit through the lens. I think we did good bud.

Kris, you are a really cool dude. I wish you much success in all you endeavor. You sound incredible and your attitude is just as awesome my friend. EVERYONE NEEDS TO BUY HIS CD! :)
Though it's still under construction, here is a link to his new website. Bookmark it and go visit in a few days. : Kris Seibold

I will be posting another 2 weddings and 2 engagement sessions this week. Blog will be poppin. Come back soon. Take care everyone. Blessings.

3 Models 4 Photogs

A few weeks ago, I was invited to a model shoot by photographer friends Maurice Ramirez and Ray Somersano of Apertura. Ray's partner in crime and equal parnter of Apertura Photo, Erwin was there as well. I won't lie, I was humbled, scared and giddy all at once for the invite. All three of these guys are excellent photographers and seriously brought the awesome for this shoot. I felt like the fat girl at the prom, "just glad to be here". Thanks for the invite guys.

We started at a studio in San Francisco and then made our way to an outdoor urban location found by Maurice. Amazing place. WHAT A FIND! If you're a Bay Area Photographer and would like to know where the location was, don't ask. I won't tell you. ;)

Thank you Raquel for bringing it once again. You are amazing at what you do. If any of my brides are without a make-up artist for their wedding day, I HIGHLY recommend her. Raquel was the MUA for the castle shoot we had a few months back. BIG thanks to Diamond Bridals as well for the use of the dresses once again. You guys do exquisite work.
